It is certain that Wall Street's influence in baseball is growing. The Tampa Bay Rays, for instance, have been transformed from a perennial non-contender to a powerhouse by Andrew Friedman, who has been successful by investing in players as he would companies. The best hope for Mets fans is that [David] Einhorn can instill this same type of analytic mindset into their team's front office.
