Jane Lee has a feature on John Jaso and his new mask, which is made of steel rather than titanium. Turns out there's no evidence one way or other about steel vs. titanium vs. hockey-style masks, so Jaso could even in theory actually be increasing his risk of another concussion, but, as Lee points out, he feels comfortable with it, and, without evidence pointing one way or another, only theory, comfort probably is the most important part because if he's shying away on swings or whatever else might happen back there, he could go from bad catcher to basically unable to play the position.
Also: thing I think I knew from last year's concussion reporting, but which I think I forgot: Jaso is an avid reader. I googled "john jaso favorite book" and didn't get a good result, though.
Susan Slusser on the Eric Sogard "Face of MLB" thing is amusing. It's interspersed with embedded tweets with some of the highlights of the Photoshop campaign, so that's great.
That's all I've got today.
