Game 1 thoughts

From a 6–5 Opening Day win in extras:
- Kendall Graveman isn't going to strike anybody out. That's just not who he is as a pitcher. That can be fine, sort of, if he doesn't allow dingers. Yesterday, he allowed dingers. If the A's are going to overachieve, the rotation is probably going to have to surprise people, and through one game: no surprises, at least not in the good direction.
- A short, mediocre start leading to a victory in extra innings is exactly the kind of outcome that the bullpen rebuild was supposed to lead to. Here's hoping that's a good omen.
- Matt Olson donger! Matt Chapman foul popup catch falling into the tarp after a long run from a shifted position! That's the stuff from The Cornerstones, which is the new Official Beaneball Nickname for the pair.
- I fell asleep on the couch because I started the game late, after I got home from work, and didn't see anything after the sixth inning, except I think I woke up briefly and saw the winning run score. I might have dreamed it.
