Scoop Jackson

Scoop Jackson introduces himself to the masses on ESPN's Page 2 with a list of things he "believes." Unfortunately for his credibility, he says
I believe Pete Rose should be in the HOF. (It isn't like he was the only one gambling -- he just was the one who got caught).
So what if he's the one who got caught? If you get caught, you're out. I can't believe "everyone else was doing it" is actually seen as a justification for being allowed the game's highest honor despite doing one of its greatest mis-deeds. If it came out conclusively that Babe Ruth bet on games, I'd want him out of the Hall, too.
I still look forward to Jackson's work on ESPN, especially with the sudden and recent passings of Ralph Wiley and Hunter Thompson, but there's a line between saying incendiary things and making statements that don't hold up under any type of logical scrutiny.
