With about five minutes left in the game and the Lakers down by two to the Spurs, I can say that I don't think I've ever seen two teams play better offense in the same game when neither team is playing bad defense. As Jeff Van Gundy said earlier, the passes are crisp, on-time, and on-target, the playmaking has been great, the shot selection has been good, and the jumpers have been falling. There have been very few fouls, just good defense. The offensive execution has simply been phenomenal on both sides.
And let me say that Josh Powell has, with three shots in a row on pick-and-rolls with Kobe sandwiched around a big defensive rebound that Tim Duncan was fighting for, earned forever the love of Laker fans who are still hurting over the loss of Ronny Turiaf.
