Apparently Jesse Chavez "earned" his rotation spot, which will come as a surprise to, among others, Jarrod Parker.

The A's are stretching Joe Savery out to start but leaving Josh Lindblom as a reliever? Savery has not legitimately started a professional game since 2010 in Triple-A.¹ Lindblom made five starts in the major leagues this very past season, though, granted, he wasn't any good.
